On Tuesday, I received my Baseball America Prospect Handbook 2009. Since I am gearing up with sleepers of all nature, I figured I'd share a list of the prospect reports I read on that first day.
The first propsect I looked at was Arizona Diamondbacks RHP Jarrod Parker. He was listed high on the three Top 50 lists that open the book. My thought was "Roy Oswalt".
From there I read OF Gerardo Parra and LHP Daniel Schlereth. Parra is a player on the roster of my NL-Only team, and Schlereth interests me as a possible closer candidate in Arizona. Not coincidently, each followed Parker in the book.
In no particular order, here are the other prospects I reviewed:
Todd Frazier 1B/SS/3B Cincinatti Reds
Chris Carter 1B/3B/OF Oakland A's
Brett Cecil LHP Toronto Blue Jays
John Mayberry Jr. OF Philadelphia Phillies
Dominic Brown OF Philadelphia Phillies
Michael Taylor OF Philadelphia Phillies
