John Harper of the NY Daily News suggests the New York Mets sign free agent SP Ben Sheets and reports "baseball people say there has been so little interest shown in Sheets that they believe he could be signed to a two-year deal that would include incentives based on his staying healthy." I agree with Mr. Harper.
The question becomes if it becomes consensus that signing Sheets to an incentive-laden two-year deal is very wise, what prevents one of those consensual opinions from expanding it a little bit to a three-year deal?
