Jaguars Upset About Wasting Money On Bums

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver is not a happy man.  Why? Because his NFL team stinks.  And the guys he hired to spend his money stink.  Well, you know what?  He's not going to do it any more!!

Team owner Wayne Weaver, still reeling from giving wide receiver Jerry Porter and cornerback Drayton Florence huge free-agent contracts last year, vowed Wednesday to fill most of the franchise's holes through the NFL draft. In a wide-ranging, 40-minute interview on his 74th birthday, Weaver also said his small-market team was positioned to handle tough economic times and capable of turning things around after finishing 5-11 and missing the playoffs for the seventh time in the last nine years.

The Jaguars likely will try to trade down from the No. 8 spot in April's draft and stockpile picks and revamp the roster with less expensive talent.

Yeah, wow, Jerry Porter.  Nobody could've predicted that he would be a huge bust, huh? <eye roll>

Fantasy owners really only care about the Jags' WR situation.  If they're not going to spend big money on a free agent WR, then they'll be targeting somebody in the draft.  I think Jacksonville is a great place for a rookie WR to break out next season.   While most people think the Jags will look for help on the OL in the first round, there are few people who think they could go WR.  While rookie WRs are usually terrible fantasy options, Jacksonville could have an exception next year.
