Two very good wide receivers here and they’re doubled up because they won’t see much playing time this season.
Eddie Royal (42nd overall) is small (5’10”) and fast, but he’s not a precise route-runner and won’t be used much. With the Broncos having a whopping twelve wide receivers on their roster – including recently signed HFL castoffs like Samie Parker and Darrell Jackson -- Royal will have a battle (ha!) to find any playing time. He may end up running back kicks though, if your league scores that.
The Bengals got rid of troubled WR Chris Henry during the off-season -- and they STILL have two disgruntled WRs –so it was no surprise that they were targeting a receiver in the draft. Even so, it doesn’t look like Jerome Simpson (46th overall) will see much playing time barring an injury to one of the “Big Two”. Simpson won’t be worth a draft pick this season, but if you’re in a dynasty/keeper league where you can stash guys away, Simpson is a very interesting choice. With the chaos and drama on the Bengals, Simpson could find himself starting next season.
