I see the results of the Tout Wars NL-only auction draft are posted now:
One thing I usually do is confirm my thoughts on what a player's value is vs. the dollar value I plan on retaining him at.
One guy that stuck out was the much discussed Albert Pujols. He went for $30 in this 13 team draft. There were 13 guys that went for more, while 2 others went for $30 also-Jake Peavy and Eric Brynes. There were 4 players-Garrett Atkins, Lance Berkman, Carlos Beltran and Brandon Phillips-who went for $1 less at $29.
The 13 players who went for more than $30 are as follows:
In one of my NL-only keeper leagues, Pujols was retained at $38, and in another keeper league, the owner is retaining him at $46.
I think the "experts" have him valued correctly due to the injury concerns with his elbow. But, with Pujols hot spring, do the experts have him valued correctly, or will one of the best hitters in the majors prove the "experts" wrong?
