Despite finishing at 9-4, one can't help but feel letdown following the UCONN football team's poor effort in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. The men's basketball team has a 9-2 record so far and can't garner one vote in any polls. This is looking like a long winter for UCONN fans.
Fortunately, there are some alumni playing in the NBA worth watching. Washington Wizards small forward Caron butler now ranks as the 6th best fantasy player. Rudy Gay has slipped a bit to 30th overall, but Chicago Bulls shooting guard Ben Gordon has improved 17 spots to #69 thanks to Christmas week run that saw him average 28.3 ppg on 43-78 FG shooting.
As long as Gordon continues to shoot the ball well, he should move upwards. However, that 37.5% FG shooting through November has hidden the shooting resurgence of December. At 41.2% on the season, he may still be available at a discount.
