Week One Starting Wide Receiver Decisions

One the the big selling points of K.C. Joyner's Scientifc Football 2007 is the level of detail that goes into analyzing the passing game on offense and defense. As such, it could prove to be quite valuable for fantasy players who have a plethora of WRs and no obvious way to select who to start and who to sit.

I've listed the WRs on my fantasy squad, Orlovsky's O, along with the DBs SF2007 matches-up with them. This league is a PPR and starts two WRs along with a Flex. Also in the mix for the Flex are RBS Jerious Norwood and Ladell Betts.

WR   Grade DB   Grade Adv
Torry Holt STL 4 Ken Lucas CAR 3.8 0.2
Andre Johnson HOU 3.65 Patrick Surtain KC 1.5 2.15
Brandon Jones TEN 1 Rashean Mathis JAX 2.5 -1.5
DJ Hackett SEA 3.5 Brian Kelly TB 1.8 1.7
Eddie Kennison KC 2.5 Dunta Robinson HOU 2.5 0
Jerry Porter OAK 2.65 Stanley Wilson DET 3 -0.35
Muhsin Muhammad CHI 2.5 Drayton Florence SD 2.5 0

Using K.C Joyners' "Thursday Night Notes", a service available for fantasy players to provide grades for all receiving options including TEs, Seattle's D.J. Hackett has the 6th best match-up this week. For context, I looked at the range of Adv and see the best is +3.5 (Cincinnati's Chad Johnson versus Samri Rolle) and the 10th best is 1.45. The worst Adv is -3 (Peerless Price versus Champ Bailey) and 10th worst is -1.2.
