I didn't pick any Browns or Bengals in last week's Guys I Don't Like post which makes me feel a little better about how my week went. I needed McNabb to put up one stinking TD for me to win in my money league, and he let me down. I don't know if people criticize black quarterbacks more than white ones, but I'm criticizing him. He stunk on Monday!
Week 2 Recap
Jason Campbell, Washington vs Philadelphia -- (16 for 29, 209 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception) He won the game, but that's hardly the fantasy output you look for in a starter. CORRECT
Willis McGahee, Baltimore vs New York Jets - (26 rushes for 97 yards, 2 catches for 6 yards, 1 touchdown) That receiving touchdown saved the day for McGahee's fantasy owners. WRONG
Ahman Green, Houston vs Carolina - (15 rushes for 71 yards, 1 touchdown) The touchdown made him worthy of a start, though it wasn't a great outing. WRONG
Shaun Alexander, Seattle vs Arizona - (18 rushes for 70 yards, 1 touchdown) Practically the same stats as Green. Unfortunately. WRONG
Ronald Curry, Oakland vs Denver -- (2 catches for 12 yards) You could see that one a mile away. CORRECT
Week 2 Recap: 2 correct, 3 wrong (.400)
Year to Date: 6 correct, 4 wrong (.600) - My three RBs averaged 79 rushing yards each, and all three were wrong. Those TDs are killing me.
Week 3 Picks
Quarterbacks
Matt Schaub, Houston vs Indianapolis - Can The Schaubmeister continue his impressive 2007 without his favorite and best target, Andre Johnson? I think the answer is no.
David Garrard, Jacksonville vs Denver - Take away a 46 yard touchdown catch by Jerry Porter last week and the Broncos are allowing only 62 receiving yards per game! Yeah, ok, so that stat is made up of Josh McCown and JP Losman, but we're talking about David Garrard here. He's played well so far, but this week he should get stifled.
Running Backs
Frank Gore, San Francisco vs Pittsburgh - The Steelers have allowed only 74 rushing yards per game. Gore is averaging only 68 rushing yards per game. It appears as though the status quo will be the order of the day. How about that for writing, huh?
Tatum Bell, Detroit vs Philadelphia - While the Eagles offense is reeling, the rushing defense has been solid - and the Eagles see this game as a "must-win". To make matters worse, Kevin Jones looks like he may be back to swipe a few carries. The idea of Tatum Bell as a legitimate fantasy running back is looking more and more ridiculous.
Wide Receivers
Anquan Boldin, Arizona vs Baltimore - While Larry Fitzgerald is the consistent receiver, Boldin is more boom-or-bust from week to week. I think it's a bust week against a tough Ravens pass defense.
