After a couple of weeks off due to a mock fantasy baseball expert's draft and a Christmas party, I am back with a fantasy update for all the alumni of the University of Connecticut that play in the NBA. When we left off three weeks ago, SF Caron butler has lept to #11 overall in NBA.com's Fantasy Sports Performance Index. Now he is in the Top 10 of all fantasy basketball players on the strength of excellent across-the-board statistics.
Also moving up is second-year forward Rudy Gay who continues he breakout campaign with 19.0 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.4 spg and .9 bpg to go with excellent shooting and free throw percentages. That well-rounded package has Rudy in the Top 30 at #29.
While the ranks do not make this apparent, Josh Boone has been playing a lot recently. In the past four games, he is averaging 27.5 minutes per game. In that effort, his stats are 9.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, a steal and 1.25 blocks per game. That continued effort will get him into the Top 150 in no time!
Too bad Marcus Williams didn't log an PT in yesterday's Nets game. I really wanted to get his lowest ranking established. It is only a matter of time before Mr. Williams becomes a viable fantasy player. That time will come the moment the Nets trade Jason Kidd.
