With fantasy football over for 80+% of the world, the time is now to begin preparing for the 2008 fantasy baseball season. Below are the average player by position and by innings pitched for the 2007 season.
For the hitters, I chose to include only those players who had more than 130 ABs, and, for pitchers, I chose to use bands of innings pitched. In both cases, my decisions revolved around the volume of players who had minimal production but would still drag down any average calculation and count totals. Given fantasy baseball is a counting game at heart, I felt clipping the least productive players from the calculations would give a better picture of what one looks at when preparing for the draft.
