I just heard on XM Radios's "MLB Homeplate" that a Reds insider is 75% sure the Reds will deal Josh Hamilton, Homer Bailey and Joey Votto to the Baltimore Orioles for Erik Bedard. The sources' estimation of likelihood seems to be as big a question as the offer itself.
This would be a HR for the Orioles, who seem unlikely to be competitive in the two years they will have Bedard under contract. Hamilton, Bailey and Votto are ready to play right now and would give the O's 17 years of control.
At least there won't be any complaining about Reds manager Dusty Baker retarding the development of three young players. Scott Hatteberg rejoice!
