How will the oddsmakers handle getting smacked around for making the Patriots a 22 point favorite last week? By making them a 20 point favorite this week. Of course, Kyle Boller is no A.J. Feeley. How'd you like to have that describe your chosen career?
All odds are from sportsbook.com. The home team is listed first.
Dolphins (-1) vs NY Jets - Let me get this straight, the Dolphins will be starting rookie John Beck at QB and some combination of Jesse Chatman and Patrick Cobbs at RB and they're favored in this game? Patrick Cobbs?! Since most leagues will see New York's Coles, Jones and Clemons as fantasy starters, it will have a huge impact if the Jets are really as bad as this looks.
Eagles (-3.5) vs Seahawks - The Eagles have received no respect from Vegas this year (Exhibit A: 22 pt underdogs last week) but they seem to have earned some after last week's performance. The Eagles have AJ Feeley at QB and the Seahawks may have Shaun Alexander in the backfield, both of which you would think favors Seattle. Apparently not. Things may be looking up if you need to start Eagles this week.
Cardinals (-1) vs Browns - The line isn't as significant here as the fact that the over/under is a big 51 points, making this the shootout candidate of the week. Even the Patriots-Ravens game is expected to score fewer total points. Start all your Browns and Cardinals with the exception of the team defenses. Although why you would even have one of these defenses on your roster is beyond me.
