Sweeny Murti of WFAN in New York is reporting the Yankees and Alex Rodriguez are close to finalizing a 10 year/$275MM contract with incentives that could take it to $300MM. Some incetives are tied to breaking the homerun marks of Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds.
The specifics are sure to follow, but I am more interested in what this does to the reputation of agent Scott Boras, and what he will do to spin it in his favor. Supposedly, he didn't allow his clients face-to-faces without his presence and reportedly limited any contact whatsoever between his players and the teams.
