If the Yankees successfully pawn-off 43-year-old Randy Johnson in exchange for three high-level prospects, the local papers report the Yanks will turn their attention to recapturing their title of "Evil Empire" from the Boston Red Sox. As a Roger Clemens fan, I feel slightly-biased against the move.
It seems to be decadent, and I fear some sort of retribution from Baseball Karma. (The stats-heads must love that scientific analysis!) What, if any, retribution will be rained upon the heads of the Yankees organization and fans if Clemens were to sign for $18MM?
