NE/NYJ

QB Tom Brady completed 15 passes for 229 yards.  it was a very efficient effort but so few completions spread amongst seven players makes all of them unreliable.  TE Ben Watson caught 3 for 39.  Nondescript but not unusual for a TE.

The RBBC of Corey Dillon and Laurence Maroney was again very effective with Dillon gaining 80 yard and Maroney getting 65.  At best, they are starters in very deep leagues and/or Bye Week fodder.

QB Chad Pennington and his receivers, Laverneus Coles and Jerricho Cotchery were the beaux of the ball while the Jets RBBC remaining the mean and ugly step-brothers, but barlow had 42 yards and 13 carries and that qualifies him as "best".

The Titans were down 40-0 with 3:10 remaining.  I'm sure NBC is trying to market all the spilt blood into Fear Factor or something.

The Vince Young Era is very close to beginning, and he should be a dual threat a la Michael Vick.

The Chargers' defense is now cemented as the must-start each week despite the the fact it dominated the two worst teams of 2006.

As pleasant was the game by Phillip Rivers. 25/35/235/1 is acceptable (during a bye week play) but the fact he threw 35 times is more encouraging.  It will take some of the sting out of the eventual coercion exerted on fantasy teams when their top QB goes down mid-season, and there is nothing but Rivers in the free agent pool.
