A friend of mine from my AL-only league emailed me to bring attention to the ever-quotable manager of the Chicago White Sox, Ozzie Guillen.
In response to a question about moving Brandon McCarthy into the starting rotation, Oz replied:
''Everyone talks about McCarthy. Last year we threw McCarthy, and he wasn't too good either. OK? Check the records. Thank you. Everyone thinks McCarthy is [blank]-damn Cy Young.''
Including that friend of mine who wouldn't deal McCarthy for anything!
