Pedro Martinez is scheduled to start one game of Saturday's double-header. The buzz in NY says Mike Pelfrey will make the start.
I would be surprised....to see Pedro start.
Normally, I would expect a "tweak" of some nature to arise that allowed him to beg out of the All-Star game.
That he has a sore hip now did not surprise. What did was the fact it came two starts before the All-Star break. This leads me towards the conclusion that it is a real injury.
From what I've read so far, it wouldn't be more than a 15-day seista for Pedro as the Mets look to conserve his arm for October.
However, it could linger towards the end of July with the Mets currently holding a commanding lead in the floundering NL East.
