Houston Astros

I do not think anyone (especially Roger Clemens) would argue that the Astros are not in need of offense.

I've beaten to death that fact the team retained Orlando Palmeiro over Jason Lane following the Aubrey Huff trade.  (And no, I cannot let it go.)

So I was reading this morning's Cincinnatti Enquirer

Todd Coffey started the inning and got two quick outs, then gave up a pair of singles.

The Reds brought in Bray to face pinch hitter Orlando Palmeiro. The Astros countered by sending up Eric Bruntlett.

When your team counters Orlando Palmeiro with Eric Bruntlett, you need know nothing else to conclude that Orlando Palmeiro is no longer a major-league caliber hitter.
