Mike Pelfrey

The Mets started rookie pitcher Mike Pelfrey against the the Cinncinati Reds, and he did OK.

I would have liked to see a little more "dominance" as he only struck out three batters in six innings of work.  (One of which were Adam Dunn - not exactly a dificult task.)

With three walks and seven hits allowed in addition to those strikeouts, he did not do much to encourage fantasy owners.

However, the start was encouraging for the Mets, and Pelfrey will start Sunday's game against the Astros.

Pelfrey's performance is a warning to all fanatsy teams about rookie pitchers.  What passes for acceptable work to major league clubs (4.50 ERA/1.50 WHIP) is harmful to fantasy ones.
