The Angels recalled outfielder Reggie Willets from AAA Salt Lake.
I was made aware of him earlier this season when he was recalled the first time, and I liked the SB potential.
I did not look at him since he was sent back to AAA, so I checked out his minor league numbers this year.
Color me "impressed." He has a .437 OBP with 65 BBs in 318 ABs and a .321 AVG. Since he plays in a hitter's league, was more impressed with the AB:BB ratio of 5:1.
He stole 24 bases while getting caught an unacceptable 14 times.
However, I could see him stealing 10+ over the remaonder of the season - if he remains in the majors.
The lack of playing time he received in his first call-up (0 ABs in 9 days with 2 pinch-running appearances) leads me to believe that "if" needs further italizing.
