I've never played in one of those fantasy leagues where one appearance at a position makes a player eligible there for the rest of the season, but I know such crazy beasts exist. For those of you in one, here's some breaking news for you from Danny Knobler, Detroit Tigers beat writer for Booth Newspapers:
BALTIMORE -- No roster moves today, but with Chris Shelton getting a day off, Pudge Rodriguez will play 1B for the first time in his big-league career. He played there years back in winter ball.
Conventional thinking is that Pudge is more valuable in fantasy (and real life, really) at catcher than any other spot on the diamond, but at least having the option to put him at first could help out a team facing injury woes.
