Roy Halladay will miss a start on Friday due a strained forearm. The team is downplaying the significance of the injury but decided to play it safe after he underwent an MRI earlier this week. Given Halladay's injury-riddled 2005 (and A.J. Burnett's start to this season), it's easy to agree with what the Jays are doing
"He wasn't that alarmed, the tests weren't all that alarming," an increasingly alarmed-looking Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi bravely told reporters before yesterday's 5-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
"He can pitch now," Ricciardi added. "We just want to make sure he gets the rest he needs just to be ready 100 per cent."
Considering I just predicted Halladay would win the Cy Young, I'm going to watch this one closely, but it's too early to get really nervous -- it's not like anyone is talking about the DL just yet.
