2007 Anaheim Angels and Oakland A's Fantasy Values

The Angels are an interesting fantasy team. It has lots of potential sleepers in their prospects but no where to get them ABs. Erick Aybar is nice, but when will Figgins, Cabrera and Kendrick sit? The same applies to Macier Izturis who would be a mid-teens player if he had a job.

The A's don't have any elite hitters. I'd go so far as to say they do not have any hitters who would go for more than $25. What they do have are a lot of hitters in the $7-$22 range. Nick Swisher is the closest to elite and he brings a .250 AVG to the table. For pitchers, I want Rich Harden to be elite, but he hasn't pitched a full-season at that level yet. Their 5th starter, Joe Kennedy, has no value until he shows he is closer to the pitcher who did well in the bullpen than the one who did poorly as a starter.

2 things stand out on that list to me
  1. is juan rivera so cheap because of the injury? if not he should be above Matthews
  2. Dan Johnson being a little high, his swing does not equate to the majors, his big looping swing cant catch up to the good pitching

1. yes and yes 2. If Johnson gets the ABs, and right now there is no reason he won't, then I expect 20 HRs.
