Recap: Colorado vs. Los Angeles

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Troy Tulowitzki drove in the game's only run with a single in the 10th and the Colorado Rockies avoided a three-game sweep by the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 1-0 win at Coors Field.
Hong-Chih Kuo (5-3) came on for LA in the 10th and gave up a leadoff single to Matt Holliday. Brad Hawpe went down swinging but Garrett Atkins moved Holliday up one bag with a single to left. Pinch-hitter Ryan Spilborghs flared a single to center and the bases were loaded for Tulowitzki, who drove a ball down the right field line for the win.
Manuel Corpas (3-3) pitched a spotless top half of the inning and got the win. Starter Aaron Cook was masterful through eight clean innings. The righty allowed eight hits and struck out two while walking none for Colorado, which snapped a deflating seven-game skid.
Greg Maddux was perfect through the first 4 1/3 frames before allowing a single to Atkins, one of his two hits allowed over seven innings. The veteran right-hander struck out three and did not walk a batter. Angel Berroa had two of LA's eight hits but none were for extra bases and the Dodgers never got a runner as far as third base.
Despite the loss, the Dodgers are four games ahead of Arizona in the NL West standings thanks to victories in 12 of their last 14 contests. LA had a four- game win streak snapped while Arizona is looking to avoid losing for the 15th time in its last 19 games this afternoon against Cincinnati.
LA got back-to-back two-out singles in the second and eighth innings but both opportunities ended with groundouts and that's as close as LA would get to scoring a run.
Los Angeles leads the season series 10-8 including a 5-4 mark in Colorado.
