Reds minor league pitcher suspended

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Major League Baseball suspended Cincinnati Reds minor league pitcher Scott Carroll 50 games after he tested positive for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG), a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension of Carroll will be effective at the start of next season.
Most recently Carroll pitched for Single-A Sarasota of the Florida State League.
