Fantasy Football 2012: Ryan Mathews Out 4-6 Weeks

During Thursday night's game against the Packers, Mathews suffered a broken clavicle. The injury happened on his first carry of the game. According to reports, he will undergo surgery on Friday and will miss between 4-6 weeks. That means he will likely miss the season opener against the Raiders and could also be unavailable in Weeks 2 and 3. Mathews was being drafted in the top 10 of many mock drafts and was considered a top 5 fantasy running back. Philip Rivers value goes up a notch, while Ronnie Brown and Curtis Brinkley should also see a small boost and should definitely be handcuffed with Mathews.

The Royals will get a second opinion but this doesn't look good at all. Jonathan Broxton and Greg Holland may be next in line to fight for the closers job.

A year removed from pitching, will be given a shot at working his way back to the Yankees starting rotation.

Mock Draft: HR and Strikeouts

This strategy required me to take no closers or speed-only guys. I had to focus on the highest HR hitters, and the best strikeout pitchers. It's an interesting and volatile team. What do you guys think?
