The Royals will get a second opinion but this doesn't look good at all. Jonathan Broxton and Greg Holland may be next in line to fight for the closers job.
The Yankees have signed Andy Pettitte to a 1-year minor league deal worth $2.5 million. The team is thrilled to have 240-game winner back.

A year removed from pitching, will be given a shot at working his way back to the Yankees starting rotation.
This strategy required me to take no closers or speed-only guys. I had to focus on the highest HR hitters, and the best strikeout pitchers. It's an interesting and volatile team. What do you guys think?
In this draft I followed a five-round block format. The first number is hitters, the second is pitchers, and they can be in any order in that five rounds. All in all a very balanced team. I also finally took a catcher somewhat early, in Jesus Montero.
Here is Day 2 of my testing out suggested draft strategies. This one involved picking 7 hitters first, followed by 7 pitchers, and then whatever else my team needed at the end. See how I did and let me know your thoughts on this team. I definitely like it better than the whole "Punt HR/RBI" strategy.
Over at Roto Managers, I'm rolling out a suggested draft strategy every day this coming week, from Monday to Saturday. Check out the link and comment which one you think will be best. If you've got another idea to throw in, leave a comment too, and I'll add it for next week. Up on Monday: "Punt HR/RBI."
Yes, the Redskins have traded 3 first round picks and a second round pick to the St. Louis Rams for the #2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Redskins will presumably take quarterback Robert Griffin III. Thoughts?
One of the writers at Roto Managers attended the conference and had the chance to hear sports leaders talk about how they utilize fantasy baseball analytics and where they see analytics going.
Sounds like Giolito will miss the high school season. Not entirely sure how that will affect his draft stock, but this had been a player widely expected to go top 5 in this year's draft.
A fantasy manager asked me to look at his eighth keeper option in a 20-team league. The decision was between Adam Jones and a RP (Kenley Jansen or Sergio Santos). Given that the had no other OF keepers, I chose Jones, despite the value that even middle men have in his format. What are your thoughts on Jones and Jansen? Jones isn't really a true #1 OF, but it's better than going into the draft with no OF keepers and your #1 being Alex Rios.
