How about that lineup I shared last night? I usually don't brag, but i deserve a pat on the back. It scored 60 points as of 1 AM with Matt Kemp still going. But enough bragging, let's switch focus to today. This might be the ugliest split slate of games I have seen all season. The early games have a few aces, and the most expensive pitcher in the late slate is the one we are using. I clearly decided to go with the later set of games since there are plenty more options. Nobody wants to read about four games. I tried to avoid recommending too many players playing at Coors, and unfortunately Javier Baez is not available yet on FanDuel. Lets keep the intro short for today, as we have a lot of material to cover.
All Players Prices Are Based On FanDuel Pricing
SP - Doug Fister, Washington Nationals, $8,200 - Fister is the biggest favorite of the day in Vegas, and he has a fairly good matchup against the Mets. I highly doubt they hit him as hard as they hit Gio Gonzales.
C - Caleb Joseph, Baltimore Orioles, $2,600 - Joseph has hit homeruns in his last three games, I won't count another homerun today, but I do expect him to be useful against Drew Hutchison who struggles at home.
1B - Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs, $4,300 - It's been awhile since we used my boy Rizzo. He squares up against Jordan Lyles who is returning from a DL stint. Rizzo in Colorado is a recipe for a homer, even though he didn't hit one yesterday.
2B - Chase Utley, Philadelphia Phillies, $3,200 - Peacock takes the mound against the Phillies today, and he has been brutal as of late. I really like Utley today since he can generate offense in many ways (walks, runs, etc).
3B - Nick Castellanos, Detroit Tigers, $2,600 - Castellanos hits LHP pitching very well, and should benefit greatly from his matchup against Chris Capuano. The matchup will take place in a great hitters park (Yankees stadium), and I will not be shocked if the Tigers annihilate Capuano.
SS - Jhonny Peralta, St. Louis Cardinals, $2,600 - Peralta is criminally underpriced. He has been hitting well lately, as the Cardinals offense has begun showing signs of life. Today he faces his old teammate Joe Kelly who has been awful thus far. Most of Peralta's homers have come against RHP so this matchup intrigues me.
OF - Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels, $4,800 - I would stack as many Angels as I could honestly. Dan Haren takes the mound for the Dodgers, and he has been beyond horrible. Luckily I could fit the best Angel of them all in this lineup.
OF - Carlo Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies, $3,500 - CarGo should be back in the lineup today, he pinch hit last night and seems to be cleared to play. He has a tough task at hand against Jake Arietta, but CarGo is clearly an elite hitter.
OF - Alex Gordon, Kansas City Royals, $3,100 - Gordon has been pretty quiet this season, but he has been more than serviceable. I love the matchup today against Collmenter in Arizona. The Royals went off last night for 12 runs, so lets hope for more of the same tonight.
As always please check lineups and weather conditions before rosters lock, nothing is worse than having inactive players on a daily fantasy roster.
