Thank god it's Friday. We got 14 games tonight, with every team in action except the Cubs/Orioles. I really focused on games outside of Coors, since the Marlins are there this weekend, and you guys should know to use Stanton, Yelich and Ozuna. On a totally different not, it really hit me today that next week is probably the last week where we will be solely focused on MLB. NFL is literally right around the corner, and we need to start switching our focus. I hope all the readers have a safe weekend, and we will be back next week with more DFS material.
All players prices are based on FanDuel pricing.
SP - Doug Fister, Washington Nationals, $8,600 - As far as GPP's go, I like Fister a lot. I don't expect his ownership to be as high as Felix or Wainwright, and he draws a good matchup against the Giants. Fister has been as consistent as they come this year, and is pretty much a safe bet for a solid outing.
C - Jonathan Lucroy, Milwaukee Brewers, $3,500 - Lucroy has a great matchup tonight against Jeff Locke. We saw what the Brewers did to a similar pitcher to Locke this week (J.A. Happ), and I expect similar results tonight.
1B - Lucas Duda, New York Mets, $3,300 - Duda is enjoying a great season thus far, and can provide a great return on investment tonight against Dan Haren. I think this is a better tournament play than cash game, but the way Haren has struggled this season I wouldn't shy away from using Duda in cash as well.
2B - Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners, $3,700 - The Mariners head to Boston today, and Cano is very familiar with that park. Joe Kelly takes the mound for the Red Sox, and he has struggled all season. The Mariners lefty heavy lineup can cause significant problems to Kelly tonight, so keep that in mind when building a lineup.
3B - Martin Prado, New York Yankees, $2,600 - Prado will most likely bat 5th or 6th tonight with a lefty on the mound for the White Sox. He does draw a favorable matchup against John Danks who has been awful since July.
SS - Zack Cozart, Cincinnati Reds, $2,400 - This is a BVP play of the day, Cozart has three homeruns off of Mike Minor, and although I don't necessarily expect a dong tonight, it is proof that he see's the ball well off of Minor.
OF - Melky Cabrera, Toronto Blue Jays, $3,900 - The Jays finally get to come home, after a mediocre road trip that has left their playoff hopes all but lost. The Jays are a great hitting team at home, and although Drew Smyly has been excellent since his trade to Tampa, those big Blue Jays bats can't be ignored.
OF - Alex Gordon, Kansas City Royals, $3,500 - Gordon should have a good game tonight against the Texas Rangers ace Colby Lewis - yes, he's their ace, I know it's sad.
OF - Matt Holliday, St. Louis Cardinals, $3,400 - I doubt Holliday's ownership will be too high today, but he should perform well tonight in Philly. Kyle Kendrick struggles equally to both sides of the bat, and the Cardinals could cause him some problems today.
As always please check lineups and weather conditions before rosters lock, nothing is worse than having inactive players on a daily fantasy roster.
Come join me and other FakeTeam writers along with the whole SB Nation in some DFS fun, turn $2 in to $1200.
