Streamer Report: Friday's Streaming Pitcher Options

Denis Poroy

Ray highlights some starting pitcher options that you should consider streaming on Friday, including Nathan Eovaldi, Tyson Ross and Jon Niese.

The Streamer Report provides you with daily startng pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.

Friday's Streamers

Jon Niese, Mets vs Braves

Niese is still available in 96% of most leagues, so he is very available. Niese gets the Braves on Friday night, and goes into the start with a 3.46 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in his first two starts thus far.

Nathan Eovaldi, Marlins vs Mariners

Eovaldi is available in 75% of most leagues and faces the Mariners at home on Friday night. Eovaldi has pitched very well this season, even though his 1--1 record and 4.19 ERA don't support that notion. He has increased his strikeout rate from 17.3% to 24.7%, reduced his walk rate from 9% to 1%, and is inducing ground balls at a 52% clip thus far. He owns a 19-1 strikeout to walk rate in 19.1 innings.

Tyson Ross, Padres vs Giants

Somehow the most hyped pitching sleeper from the offseason is available in 98% of leagues right now. Go out and grab him now. Ross made just one start vs the Giants in 2013, but made an appearance in another game in relief, giving up three runs on seven hits with a 12-1 strikeout to walk in 7.2 innings.

I will be providing a status of how my picks have performed over the course of the season, and below you can find how my picks fared this week. After a rough start to the season, my picks have fared better to begin Week 3 of the 2014 season.
