The 20-20 Club has some new members

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Ray takes a look at the hitters who joined the 20 home run - 20 stolen base club in 2013.

Fantasy owners like to draft guys who can provide them with 20+ home runs and 20+ stolen bases in the early rounds of drafts. Hitters like Mike Trout, Andrew McCutchen, Matt Kemp, Ryan Braun and a few others are some of the top hitters taken every year, mainly due to the fact that they can provide solid production across the five hitting categories, including 20+ home runs and 20+ stolen bases.

Last season the 20-20 club included the following hitters (stats courtesy of FanGraphs):

Out of that group, only three repeated in 2013., Trout, Desmond and McCutchen. And of those three, two were expected, but I never expected Desmond to hit 20 home runs again. Think again, he is the real deal and a very valuable shortstop. Now that I am on his bandwagon and draft him in every draft next season, he will hit 10 home runs and steal 19 bases.

So, 2013 has brought us several new 20-20 club members. Some hitters that will not, and should not, be drafted in the early rounds of drafts next season, while the usual suspects, Trout, McCutchen and CarGo will continue to be first round picks.

Let's take a look:

Guys like Gomez (Brian McCann's BFF), Pence and Venable shouldn't sniff the early rounds of most drafts, although Gomez will be probably be drafted earlier than Pence and Venable, possibly in the 4th-6th rounds of drafts.

I don't see Pence stealing 20 bases in 2014, and Will Venable will be hard-pressed to repeat 20 home runs again. Coming into this season, Venable had stolen 20+ bases a few times, but has never hit more than 20 HRs in a season. In fact, his 22 home runs more than doubled his home run production over the last two seasons combined. He hit nine home runs in both 2011 and 2012, but this year, that total has jumped to 22. As you would expect, his HR/FB% has more than doubled this season as well, from just under 10% to 20.8% this season.

One more guy is just two stolen bases away from another 20-20 season is Yankees outfielder Alfonso Soriano. Alfonso Soriano??? What the? This isn't 2006, is it? Well, that was the last time Soriano went 20-20 in a season. Actually, he not only joined the 20-20 club that season, he joined the 30-30 club and the 40-40 club.

Looking ahead to next season, below is a list of hitters who could join the 20-20 club:

There are five hitters in the list above that I feel have the best shot at putting up a 20-20 season in 2014:

Bryce Harper

Hanley Ramirez

Yasiel Puig

David Wright

Alex Rios

Who do you think can join the 20-20 club in 2014? Did I miss anyone? Let's hear it in the comments section.
