Week 13 Starting Pitchers

1. Jake Westbrook at Houston Astros (6/25) at Oakland Athletics (6/30)

2. Jacob Turner vs. San Diego Padres (6/29)

3. Jason Marquis vs. Philadelphia Phillies (6/25)

4. Jeremy Guthrie at Minnesota Twins (6/27)

5. Stephen Fife vs. San Francisco Giants (6/25) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (6/30)

6. Chris Capuano vs. Philadelphia Phillies (6/28)

7. Jeremy Bonderman vs. Chicago Cubs (6/30)

8. Tyler Chatwood vs. New York Mets (6/27)

9. Jhoulys Chacin vs. San Francisco Giants (6/28)

10. Wade Davis at Minnesota Twins (6/28)

Westbrook sits at number one this week. He threw 7 scoreless innings against the Cubs in his last start and I expect him to perform well against the Astros and A's in Week 13. Jacob Turner is currently posting a 1.969 ERA and a 1.1562 WHIP. He only has one win to show for it, but he has been dealing thus far. Jason Marquis is 6-1 at home this season and his last 4 starts have all been quality. Guthrie and Davis make their way onto the list because they will start in Minnesota. Davis is further down because he has allowed the third most hits in all of baseball (108 in 81.2 IP). Fife has given up 2 runs or less in 4 out of his 5 starts. I like him to shut down Philly and the Giants in Week 13. Chris Capuano is the weekly pitcher coming off of a shutout against the Yankees. He started twice last week and tossed 11 scoreless innings. Ride the hot hand here. JEREMY BONDERMAN AGAIN! He had two really good starts in Week 12 and until he screws up, acquiring him is not the craziest idea. He does only have 8 strikeouts in 24.2 IP though. Chacin makes me nervous, as he pitches at Coors Field against the Giants. His home ERA is 4.92 in 2013, but he has won his last three starts, two of which were at home. In that stretch he allowed only 4 runs in 20.2 IP. Chatwood also starts at home this week, but he has given up 2 runs or less in his last 7 starts (3 at home).

Week 13 Hitters

Coors Field: New York Mets, 1 game / San Francisco Giants, 3 games

Yan Gomes

Drew Stubbs

Ryan Raburn

Ryan Flaherty

Nate Schierholtz

Marlon Byrd

The Cleveland Indians will face four southpaws in Week 13, which is why three righty Tribe bats top the list. Gomes has a .571 slugging percentage against lefties. Raburn's stat line versus lefties looks like this: .306/.393/.612. Stubbs is batting .274 against lefties this season and he is the type of player that can break out and have a huge week. Flaherty hit two homers on Sunday and one on Friday. The O's will face 5 righties in Week 13. Schierholtz will face strictly right-handed pitching this week. He is 4 for his last 8 with a homer and 3 RBI. Marlon Byrd collected 10 hits last week and he will face 4 lefties in the upcoming week.
