The Streamer Report: Saturday's Starting Pitcher Targets

Rich Schultz

Ray Guilfoyle offers his streaming starting pitcher selections for Saturday's games.

The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.

Before I get to Saturday's streamers, here is how my selections for Thursday's games fared:

John Lackey vs Twins - 7 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 1 ER, BB, 8 K, L

Bartolo Colon vs Indians - 4 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, L

Jason Vargas vs Astros - 5.2 IP, 10 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 7 K

Combined stats: 16.2 IP, 24 H, 12 ER, 3 BB, 19 K, 2 L, 6.67 ERA, 1.67 WHIP

Here are my streaming pitcher selections for Saturday's games:

Kevin Slowey vs Dodgers

I picked up Slowey in the Razzball experts league on Wednesday, as the Dodgers are having major problems scoring runs thus far, and I will continue playing against them until they break out of this slump. Slowey has been a pleasant surprise to his owners this season, as he is 1-2 with a 1.81 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 44.2 innings. He has given up 2 runs or less in six of his seven starts this season.

Jose Quintana vs Angels

Quintana is owned in 14.1% of ESPN leagues and gets to face an Angels team that is also struggling to score runs, and win games. Quintana has held his own this season, giving up three runs or less in four of his six starts this far. He has made one career start vs the Angels, giving up one earned run and 11 base runners in 5 innings.

Jarrod Parker vs Mariners

Parker has flat out stunk this season. Yep, but I am going with him vs the Mariners, who rank 26th in MLB in runs scored. Parker is owned in just 23% of ESPN leagues right now, and has too much talent to continue pitching like this. Yeah,he is a risk, but sometimes you just have to go with your gut and play a hunch every now and then. Parker has made just one career start at Safeco Field, and it was a good one, giving up one run and seven base runners in 7 innings.
