Craig Goldstein took in his first Spring Training game of the year at the much praised Salt River Field at Talking Stick park, watching the Arizona Diamondbacks fall to the Cleveland Indians, 5-4
2013 marks the fourth consecutive year that I have traveled to Spring Training with my family to take in some Dodger games and check out the back fields at a few complexes. Last year we were unable to visit the new Salt River Fields, and so I made it a point to take a trip out there this year, even if it meant no Dodgers for a day. I don't know how many of you liked what I did last year, but it doesn't take much to ignore a photo gallery, so we're giving it another go.
My schedule for the rest of the week:
Tomorrow:We'll catch Clayton Kershaw taking on the Cincinnati Reds, though much to my chagrin, Billy Hamilton was sent down early last week. Following that, the Rangers and Royals are playing four games simultaneously under the lights in the evening, and I'm hoping to get to that.
Saturday: The Dodgers face the White Sox in a nightcap, though I am not aware who is pitching for either side
Sunday: Travel to Phoenix Municipal to see the A's/Dodgers tilt
Monday: Leave in tears
