Keeper league - keep 15 MLB players. This is the 8th year of this league (6th for me in it) and I have built this team from a last place team to a potentially strong one for many years to come through trades, draft, minor league roster, etc.
Two trades that are being discussed. Below is my current MLB roster:
Possible TRADE 1: I give Felix Hernandez and Ian Kinsler in exchange for Justin Upton and a draft pick
Possible TRADE 2: I give Eric Hosmer, Yovanni Gallardo, and draft pick or top minor leaguer for Albert Pujols
These are from two different owners so I could pick up both Upton and Pujols which I think would be significant for my offense this year (and for several years to come). We play head to head and score 12 categories (7 offensive and 5 pitching) so the batters are more valued overall in the league. 3OF spots with 2 Utility spots.
Any thoughts? My only concern is that giving my two best pitchers would hamper my ability to compete in all categories, but to counter that thought is that I can always find enough pitching but elite hitters, not so much. I think I know what I would/should do with these trades but wanted the community feedback.
