Fantasy Football 2012: Ryan Mathews Out 4-6 Weeks
During Thursday night's game against the Packers, Mathews suffered a broken clavicle. The injury happened on his first carry of the game. According to reports, he will undergo surgery on Friday and will miss between 4-6 weeks. That means he will likely miss the season opener against the Raiders and could also be unavailable in Weeks 2 and 3. Mathews was being drafted in the top 10 of many mock drafts and was considered a top 5 fantasy running back. Philip Rivers value goes up a notch, while Ronnie Brown and Curtis Brinkley should also see a small boost and should definitely be handcuffed with Mathews.
