So here's the situation. 14 team keeper, weekly 7x7 (standard 5x5 plus OBP, SLG, BB, and K/9). I have the best hitting in the league, but a big gaping hole at catcher right now, and we only start one catcher (but both Soto and Lucroy on the DL). In roto this wouldn't be a problem because first is first in a category and you get the same points no matter the differential, but on a weekly basis I think I could significantly improve. I currently have Ernesto Frieri and one of the other guys in the league is trying to package Valverde with one of his 3 catchers (Carlos Santana, AJ Ellis, and Saltalamacchia) to get Frieri. This guy is one of my biggest competitors for the championship and is currently neck and neck with me. I am a little bit worried that with three valuable catchers he manages to improve his team by getting Frieri without significantly losing anything else, while I have to sacrifice Frieri's ratios for Valverde's. Should I pull the trigger?
