I am contemplating moving Trout/Arenado/Skaggs for Votto/Carpenter. My team is primed to win now and Votto would fill my CI slot or 1B if Wright's injury ends up being serious and I move Cabrera to 3rd when he qualifies.
My concerns
- Right now Wright is my only real 3rd baseman for now and the future (I have Gamel but who knows if he will produce and he most likely wont even qualify at 3rd next year). The expirement with Cabrera may not work out and he may not get 3B eligibility.
- Carpenter's neck - his status is so up in the air right now and at age 37 who knows how fast he will heal.
- I am giving up 3 of the top 20 prospects!!!
Obviously getting Votto for "unproven" talent is a steal so I am seriously considering this. Am I crazy?
