Need help rounding out Dynasty rotation
Need some input from everyone on which one of these starting pitchers to drop. Standard 5x5 league in a 16 team Dynasty league.
Need to drop one of the following:
Carlos Zambrano
Francisco Liriano
James McDonald
Homer Bailey
I think I have it narrowed down to Zambrano or McDonald. Both guys are prone to the walk and inflated WHIP but I am intrigued to see what the move to Miami will do for Zambrano. I am already keeping; Lester, Wainwright, Bumgarner, Pineda, Marcum, and Kennedy.
Thank you for your thoughts.

Drop Zambrano.
The Miami intrigue is way overblown. James McDonald is younger, has upside, strikes out more batters, and has been getting unlucky with his ERA the last couple of seasons.

I agree, but
James McDonald…and has been getting unlucky with his ERA the last couple of seasons.
how do you get unlucky with ERA for a “couple of seasons”? Seems to me that it’s not about luck when it’s for SEASONS.

Agree with Braden.
Zambrano had a hugely lucky “comeback” in 2010, and his K/9 is done being useful. Also, despite a decent (for him) BB/9 in 2012, I don’t expect him to hold onto the gain. If Miami’s stadium is large, it might help him out, but honestly as a Cubs fan I don’t expect him to keep his cool after years of behavioral issues. That being said, at least he isn’t as injury prone as Liriano. If you’re looking for the most IP, then maybe you drop Liriano instead.
James McDonald is a risk, mostly because he plays on the Pirates, but he’s got upside and strikeout potential. He made good gains in the second half alst year, improving his K/9 and BB/9 by a full 1.0. Young pitchers will have some bumps and bruises, but better to get in on McDonald’s potential breakout (3.50 ERA, 170 K possible?) than spin the Wheel of Misfortune on Zambrano.
