Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire 150

J.R. Smith and Wilson Chandler could be heading back to the good ol' NBA very soon. Which players should you drop to grab them? Well, we have that question answered for you in Waiver Wire 150.

What started off to be my usual Waiver Wire Scoops From Wednesday morphed into this beast of a ranking of all the players that are available in 25 percent of leagues. A lot of sites will do the players in the top 100 or so, but that doesn't really help out most owners since only about five percent of their transactions are trades (maybe less).I'm hoping this is your one-stop shop on players that might be worthy of an add for you. That's especially true for deep leagues.

The players in the list are arranged for overall value for the rest of the season. That aforementioned value is a combination of guys that are Band-Aids and can help you for the next week and also guys that can help you down the road. Of course each fantasy team is different, so some owners might prefer C.J. Watson while Derrick Rose heals and others might want to stash Bismack Biyombo for the fantasy playoffs. If you're looking for some of my reasoning on why i have a certain player in his spot, you can post a comment below and I'll explain.

Oh yeah and follow me on Twitter @MikeSGallagher. It is a pretty awesome fantasy resource for any fantasy owner with all sorts of tips, updates, pickups and anything else that you can use to help you win a title.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to ask me about any player in the comment section below. Let's try to make this interactive. You can also list your place in the standings, format and roster and I could help on which player could help you the most (just list a handful of guys you're considering).

Who do you guys like? Who’s too low? Who’s too high?

Also Brook Lopez is owned in more than 75% of leagues, but I get a ton of questions about adding him, so I threw him in there.

Nikola Pekovic

This guy has been a monster. He’s only 62% owned in Y!; How come he wasn’t ranked? And If you were to rank him, where would he be?

Wilson Chandler

Why is Wilson Chandler so low if he is indeed back? I was thinking of dropping Brooker or Prince for him? They’re the only ones I have that I could drop. Thoughts?

by Gilb on Feb 16, 2012 6:05 PM EST reply actions

There is nothing conclusive yet and we don’t know his role just yet.

I would not cut Booker at all, but I certainly don’t have a problem cutting Prince for him if you’re looking for upside

Wilson Chandler

Fair enough re the Chandler analysis – but can I ask why you rank Booker significantly higher than Prince. Prince is getting a ton of minutes, if Booker was also – I would agree. I’m just worried of Booker’s ceiling because of Vesely.

by Gilb on Feb 16, 2012 6:14 PM EST up reply actions

Booker is en fuego, man. Before his back-to-back dud, he was putting up top-40 numbers. I think he’s a dub-dub threat every night and he brings plenty of D. FG% help too

kemba

where would kemba fall in this group also is the rumor of wilson chandler returning in a few days true?

by john65 on Feb 16, 2012 6:08 PM EST reply actions

Kemba is almost 100% owned, but as most of you guys know I think he falls off. I would have him after Devin Harris, so like 25ish

jr

why are you so high on jr…seems like he will strugle to get minutes in new york having to compete with shump and novak etc…how aany minutes do you think he plays?

by john65 on Feb 16, 2012 6:14 PM EST up reply actions

He’s a volume scorer and I think he can get 26ish minutes.. Those 26 should yield like 13 PPG, 1.2 3PM and 1.0 steals with some boards mixed in.. Those are pretty solid numbers

ilyasova

you ranked him that low because of scott skiles right? dam only if he was seeing consistent minutes. he can rebound block shots and shoot 3s. ):

by dizzydonkey on Feb 16, 2012 6:33 PM EST reply actions

Yeah pretty much. I also call him the Turkish Roller Coaster for his ridiculous inconsistency.

WILSON CHANDLER

would you run to grab him? or just stay put and let someone else take him? my weakest players are marshon brooks, and ilyasova.

by dizzydonkey on Feb 17, 2012 2:29 PM EST reply actions

I certainly would not drop MarShon or Ersan for him.
