Fantasy Basketball 2012: All Questions Answered Thread
What's up, everyone? In case you haven't noticed, I've been beating on the waiver wire like it owes me money ever since the season started. Obviously, when you're looking to add 100 or so guys I've mentioned, you're going to have to make some cuts. It's with that idea in mind that we've created the All Questions Answered Thread.
Many of you have probably been taking advantage of Twitter by sending me tons of questions/comments per week and I love answering them. However, I know everyone isn't on Twitter so this thread is primarily for you guys since we appreciate you taking the time to check out our content. Also some of you guy on Twitter can fire over some questions that require an answer more than 140 characters.
One other thing I wanted to mention is that we have a new writer! His name is Maxmillien Rosenberg. Max wrote with me last year at my old site and I dragged his butt over here to faketeams.com. Max also actually had a major hand in getting me to join Twitter, so give him a follow @Maxmillien for some more fantasy basketball goodness in your timeline!
All Questions Answered Thread after and a super-saturated Pick-N-Roll after the jump
Also check out the stuff from this weekend:
Ask about add/drop, trade props, ranking of a group of players, commish problems, watch list guys, details about injuries or anything else you can think of and I'll answer it to the best of my ability.

What the hell should I do with Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson?
Sell low on Nelson? Sell high on Randerson? Or just keep em both?
I would absolutely hold on to Anderson for a little while longer. It would depend on what you’re getting in a sell-high scenario. He probably has about top-70 value
Jameer kind of is what he is. He is starting a little slower that expected, but there’s no way

You’re taking a bit of a chance there and Young in playing great right now. Plus Elton Brand seems like he’s going to miss time with the way he’s moving around on the court (that is a complete guess, by the way).
D. Wright shot attempts have been cut in half and all the new assets in GSW (Rush, Thompson) certainly look like they’re hurting his value.
I think it’s pretty close and it’s not like YOung has that high of an upside. I’ll take Young, but I wouldn’t have a problem if you believe in Wright more than me.

Is Gary Neal still the guy to own in SA?
Danny Green had more mins and 24 points
I’ve been saying this all week: I HATE POP. He has the trickiest rotations in the league for both frontcourt and backcourt (except Parker, Duncan and Ginobili for the most part). I think since Green’s line was such a monster and Neal hasn’t exactly been playing big minutes at any point of his young career (played over 30 MPG just six times last year), I’ll take Green with the higher upside.
Just remember that I’m probably the lowest on Neal among any writer and it’s very close. Neal won’t do more than 3PM and points, while Green filled the whole stat sheet

I have to point out that I saw this coming with Chandler Parsons taking over at the 3 (mentioned on Friday, and I just have to do it to keep my sanity). I would probably do that, but Chris Singleton AND Jan Vesely (who should be playing soon) will hurt him as well. I would take Lewis, but I would probably rather have another younger guy (check my Waiver Wire Guide).

Yeah I would swap out Either for Singleton.. Especially since Lewis didn’t play with a sore knee.. Beware of Vesely though
Parsons has more upside to me, too. So if you care more about a couple weeks from now, I’d add him.. I doubt people in your league are hip to him yet though, so go Singleton until further notice

I gotta go with Rush for his higher upside. Rush did have that dud two games ago, so there’s that, but has a couple impressive outings on his game log. He has a lot more competition with D.Wright and Klay Thompson (who’s been playing well) though.
I do like Gee a little bit and he’s outplaying The Hebrew Hammer (Casspi) by a lot. He’s the safer of the two and Cleveland is taking more 3PA than GS this year.
Go Rush, but if Gee has a bust-out game, make the switch.

derrick williams
do i play him today with confidence in a 9-cat roto league (with games played limits)?
Depends on how strict your limits are. Here’s what I’d expect against ORL..
13 points, five boards, two dimes, a three, a steal and a block…. Those are pretty nice numbers considering his percentages should be pretty good.

thinkin about Markief
I have Parker Duncan and Splitter and just grabbed Green, and i want to drop Tiago or Green for Markief? good move or keep Timmys handcuff, go Green or grab the phx rookie?
I would have no problem keeping Green and Morris. Both of those guys have proved their upside so far and Splitter can’t shoot a free throw worth a lick.
Morris could be passing Frye on the depth chart, and when he does, he could have like a 10-7 line with plenty of 3s and blocks.
Green’s line was just too big to ignore last night for a guy like Splitter that has been pretty boring

We should know a lot more today too when both of these teams play
by MikeGallagher on Jan 8, 2012 11:30 AM EST up reply actions
yeah.. but if i snooze i lose, i dropped splitter for morris. and its tough to carry 4 players of the same team.

Good point. You definitely know your league mates better than me. Green has a great matchup too vs. MIN. MIL hasn’t been too great on forward either

Jack is a much better own than D. Wright right now. Not really even close for me

Three questions please
So long as this isn’t violating the good will of your AQA:
1. In a dynasty, drop Jordan Crawford for Hickson or Klay Thompson, or just stay put?
2. In a dynasty, could I trade Norris Cole & Marcus Thornton for Pierce, Beasley, & Billups? I would be dropping JC or Speights. I want to win now, but 2 of those guys are old as dirt, and Beasley seems risky.
3. In a dynasty, could I trade DJA & Horford for Kobe & David Lee. It’s the same win now team, and I’m loaded with centers. I need three’s and scoring. Still, Kobe seems like a huge health risk, and he’s old. Very old.
It’s not, but those dynasty questions are realy tricky because there are so many rules. Maybe this will help:
Crawford has really lost a lot of steam and most of his value right now is as John Wall’s backup. Plus, the way that the Wiz are playing means they could be looking to shift the rotation around a little. I would cut him for Hickson in most situations since Hickson should be very good with Chuck H out of the lineup.
Pierce still has a few good years left and Thornton is really a system wing guy, so I’d rather have the Pierce side.
I’d take the Kobe side there. Lee is no slouch too and Kemba might grab the starting gig iin a couple years
Again, I have no idea about your league format, so I wouldn’t put too much stock in this answer.

Should I drop Dorell Wright for Norris Cole?
Wright has been disappointing so far and I’m not sure if i should drop him or not.
I wouldn’t go that far. Cole and Chalmers are in a tre timeshare.
There might be someone better than Cole on your wire though

Byron Mullens
Is this a solid youngster learning his way and becoming fantasy relevant?
Or is as stiff as a board & just getting minutes he shouldn’t ever be seeing on a turrible, just turrible team?
Pick n Roll
Hey,
I couldn’t find the pick n Roll show for Jan 9.
Do you have Monday’s off (it’s ok if you do haha) or have I missed it somehow.
Desperately needing my fantasy analysis fix.

Need help!
I’m in a 16-team H2H league, and wanted to know if I should drop Perkins for Favors? My other PF/C are Scola, McGee, Blair, and Amare.
Also, would you drop Gordon Hayward for Brandon Rush? Hayward does start, but is not producing, so I don’t know.
(Bonus question) – Trade my Holiday for Rudy Gay?
Here’s my full squad: Deron Williams, Jennings, Holiday, Hayward, Marvin Williams, Perkins, Scola, McGee, Shumpert, Delfino, Stoudemare, Derrick Williams, Blair
