Fantasy Baseball 1st Round Pick Help

I'm in a 5X5 roto league that counts:

OBP, RBI, Runs, HR, SB

Wins, K, ERA, Whip, Sv

Only six teams so things are pretty shallow but a lot is on the line in this league so I don't want to mess up my first pick.

Pujols and Cabrera were drafted 1 and 2. Pitching is normally pretty easy to find so I was leaning towards a batter. Who do you think I should pick? The first pick is important so I want to make it count.

Adrian Gonzalez Bos 1B

Troy Tulowitzki Col SS

Matt Kemp LAD OF

Justin Upton Ari OF

Justin Verlander Det SP

Jose Bautista Tor 3B/OF

Robinson Cano NYY 2B

Roy Halladay Phi SP

I'm thinking Jose Bautista. But I'm a Jays fan so I'm not sure if I've got a bit of wishful thinking here.

I’d go Matt Kemp of Troy Tulo.

Tulo plays a premium position, and Kemp is just a stud can’t go wrong with either of them, and 1B isn’t really that shallow its pretty deep and there will be a ton of great picks later on for 1B in a 6 team draft

Alex Bunbury = good. Teal Bunbury = a colour

Kemp was my 2nd choice after Bautista. Love that power/speed combo. His OBP is a bit lower than the rest of the guys on the list though. Tough call.

Kemp easy. Not near as premium of a position, but his stats will be awesome enough to make up for it. But… Imma Dodgers fan.

I would go Kemp or Tulo. Both are the best at their positions.

Tulo, especially in a shallow league.

Difference between and other SS is huge.

If you are confident Kemp will repeat, then you should take Kemp. I expect a slight regression, so I would draft Tulo.

I ended up going with Tulo.

I’m hoping to grab one of the big corners or OF’s on the way back.
