need help real quick.

okay. so i need to make a decision by 7:30 today.

my team i stacked at hitting. and the pitching is pretty above average.

im in a standard H2H espn fantasy league.

and i want to pick up phil hughes today. before his 7:00 start.

so i have to decide which of my 3 worst pitchers to drop to pick him up. i have tried to offer trades. seeing as they are better than most teams 2nd and 3rd options.

but no one has checked yet. ad i need them gone now before someone else picks hughes up.

so should i drop. francisco liriano (like the most), Kyle Lohse, or Justn Masterson. my 3 worst pitchers, to pick up Phil Hughes. which one do you think?

i need help Before 7:00.

Thats tough. Liriano actually has pitched like Liriano lately. So I wouldn't drop him.

Masterson has been really good. Though Lohse doesn’t get strikeouts, his ability to limit walks and flyballs really has turned him into an above-average pitcher, but if those are really your 3 worst pitchers, than Lohse is probably the most droppable. I am just not sure I would drop him for Phil Hughes unless you absolutely needed the spot start.

well i dont need the spot star.

but my pitching staff is pretty solid (Felix, Chacin, Gio Gonzales, Colon, about to get CC via Trade, And Josh Johnson whenever he gets off the DL.)
i was attempting to trade lohse. but with how turrible he’s been latley. not many are interested. i do fear someone will pick him up when i drop him and he will rebound. but i think that huges will actually turn the season around. liriano pitched pretty terrible today against tampa bay. but he’s been up and down all season. and i believe in him after the all start break to pick it up. maybe he gets traded to a playoff team.
if i dont pick up hughes now tho. im almost sure that someone will pick him up if he has a good start. (which im sure giradi will limit him to the most 6 innings if he’s not pitching a no-hitter)
i am currentley 7th i believe in my division. but that mostly has to do with a bunch f injuries at the beginning of the year seeing as how i have the most complete team in my league.

so, with a team like this. and am still fighting for a playoff spot. do you think i should take the risk?
i am all for taking risks. but i would like to get your guys opinion after seeing my roster on what i should do.
i have attempted to trade lohse and masterson. but none hve been acceted yet. and whoever i drop, the other 2 will be traded for CC Sabathia. as long as my league doesnt veto it.
so what you guys think now?

Who in their right mind would trade you CC for 2 of these guys? Rigged deal? You said it yourself that it’s shady when you stated “as long as my league doesn’t veto it”.

I think the downfall of my fantasy teams for years, was that I lived in fear.

That’s an extreme way to put it, but I always thought “What if someone gets him first??” “What if he does good after I drop him??”

I finally just said, all the worry in the world will never help me get anywhere. You are taking a risk that Hughes is better than Lohse. But you got to go with what you think, because there’s no guarantee on either player.

Hughes might be worth the risk but there’s not enough evidence for me to say for or against. But is losing Lohse a big deal? Probably not.

okay. thanks for the advice, really.

i usually just say F it. but sometimes i need a second or 3rd opinion.
so what i will do is drop lohse. pick up hughes. and c if i can get that deal for CC through the veto system
