Dustin Pedroia vs. Hanley Ramirez
I play in a 12 team keeper league where we can keep 5 players. The scoring system is head to head and points based (traditional scoring, no penalty for strikeouts). This is my current lineup, with position rank (by total points) next to each player.
C: Carlos Santana 2
1B: Paul Konerko 6
2B: Dustin Pedroia 2
3B: Evan Longoria 13
SS: Derek Jeter 20
OF: Mike Stanton 21
OF: Johnny Damon 28
OF: Nick Markakis 39
DH: David Ortiz 1
An owner in my league has recently acquired Hanley Ramirez, but he already has Troy Tulowitzki. He's offering me Andre Ethier and Hanley Ramirez for Dustin Pedroia and Billy Butler. I'm in first place right now, so I need to think about the short term and the long term. I have Dustin Ackley on my bench, so he would probably replace Pedroia.
I understand that in a roto league I should do this trade without thinking, but it's very different in a points league. Whereas Pedroia is a second tier second baseman in roto, he could easily be considered the best second baseman in a points league. They're both the same age, and honestly I don't see why Pedroia is any worse than Hanley when he's played out of his mind the past two seasons while Hanley has struggled. Do any of you in points leagues have any advice?

it depends i think,
i mean Ramirez is a great fit a SS he is stills truggling but will come aorund dont worrie. And it depends on who is in your outfield? would Either be a starter?
Hanley/Ackley > Pedroia/Jeter
and Ethier is an upgrade over Butler, in my opinion, probably slots into your OF. I’d do it.
+1
but I don’t play in a points league.

I also don't play in a points league, so take this FWIW, but...
IMO, I’ll take PrincetonCubs one step further, and say
Hanley/Ackley/Ethier > Pedroia/Jeter/Damon
That makes sense
I’m doing the trade. It seems like a win in the short-term and the long-term
