help with my prospect roster
I’m in a relatively shallow league (5*5 roto), so higher ceilings are more important to me than high floors.
*Also, positional players are generally better bets in my league, but potential aces are certainly rosterable.
I currently have Randall Delgado, Jake Odorizzi, Tim Wheller and Grant Green, and I’m thinking all four might be potentially cuttable given what’s out there at the moment.
pitchers:
Dellin Betances
Zach Lee
Tyler Skaggs
Matt Harvey
Jarred Cosart
Arodys Vizcaino
Garret Richards
Some position guys:
Aaron Hicks
Chris Carter
Billy Hamilton
Josh Sale
Schoop
Gyorko
Marisnick
Szczur
Do you see any obvious adds?

I don't see any obvious adds amongst the hitters. Not to me at least.
But Grant Green isn’t a superstar, and some of those pitchers might be very good. Betances and Lee over Green at least. Havent looked at Wheelers numbers in a little while, and I’m undecided on Odirizzi.
Betances pitching in New York could be a lot better than everyone outside of maybe Delgado, and I’d even call that one close.

Not sure if you saw my response on the MLM article
I’m home and had a chance to look at the numbers. Betances and Skaggs are the two pitchers you want and I would drop Delgado and Green for them. Delgado is more of a high floor guy rather than high ceiling. Odorizzi is worth keeping. He does everything you want in a 5X5 pitcher but is still only in High-A so you may want to keep Delgado over him. I still prefer Odorizzi. Skaggs is awesome. 19 and dominating High-A in a hitters league.
Tim Wheeler has been mashing, albeit in the Texas League, and he has speed too so he is worth keeping. Of the hitters listed I really like Jedd Gyorko. He was the best power hitter in the NWL last year and he is the best power hitter in his league again this year. The problem is he’s going to play half his MLB home games in Petco and he isn’t particularly young for his level, although not old either.

me
I would throw Matt Harvey in the mix of guys to add as he just was promoted to AA Binghamton today after dominating High A. I like Gyorko, Cosart and Odorizzi as well.
KLaw ranked Hicks at #10 in his pre-season top 100 and he usually ranks according to ceiling, fwiw.

I like Harvey too
I REALLY don’t understand the Hicks hype. To me he’s just another Denard Span type. Not great SB numbers, little power and not a great AVG. He’s a better real life player due to his defense and strong OBP.

IMO, keep Delgado & Odorizzi
As for bats, I prefer Gyorko or Schoop to Green. Wheeler is a bit of a wild card, even if the K-rate is a little unsettling.
Garrett Richards
Duh, he should be an obvious add. Same with Lee, Betances and Skaggs
Lance Berkman= Awesome, CJ Wilson= Jack@$$
