Fantasy Help!

I have one middle infield utility spot. Who will be a better candidate for the rest of the season in normal 5x5 categories... Jemile Weeks, Dee Gordon or Dustin Ackley.I'm a Mariners fan so i am pretty familiar with Ackley ( I've seen him five times in person including his MLB debut last night) but i don't know much about the others.I'm leaning Ackley but if Gordon could steal 25 bases or Weeks could hit .280 i might have to reconsider. Please rank 1-3 with your analysis in the comments. Thanks!

Gordon could hit both.280 and steal 25 ROS. Ackley is the best hitter of the 3 but he doesn’t have anywhere near the speed Gordon or Weeks have and his power is nothing special. Ackley is the best option for AVG and best long term player but playing in that Seattle offense it’s hard to believe he won’t get sucked into the production black hole that has engulfed the entire team. Still, it’s hard to argue with Ackley’s talent.

just to round out the Mrs. Dash Spice Pack of options here.

But, yeah, depends on your category needs. Ackley will probably have higher BA, some power ceiling (but prob similar to that of Weeks), and, shockingly enough, play on the best team of the 3, even ROS. Gordon will have the most steals. Weeks has the least guaranteed playing time.

Overall rank: Ackley, Gordon, Weeks, unless you’re set for BA et al, and really need steals. Weeks is a nice keeper flier, but won’t put anyone over the edge this year.

How much playing time will he get once Furcal comes back, though?

Gordon is a decent play now, but can we say the same around mid-July when he likely gets sent back down to AAA?

As for Ackley, I’m not sure how his bat plays in that lineup, in that ballpark, etc. to make him my choice.

I say Weeks – Ellis won’t provide nearly the same obstacle to JW as Furcal will to Gordon.

If I had to bet on one

I’d pick Ackley. Gordon may be fast, but can he get on base? Ackley’s the best hitter, no doubt.
