Help on Votto Trade

12-team points keeper league. No chance to win this year, so looking to move Votto.

Two offers : Jaime Garcia, Elvis Andrus and Anthony Rizzo is the first ; second is Eric Hosmer, Jesus Montero and first round pick next year.

Garcia is young and strong, and this league favors pitchers. Hosmer I love, is Rizzo as good?

The draft pick is nice, but we keep 13 players, so the pool is thin.

i would go with the second pick.

to me Hosmer is better then Rizzo i like Montero and im not sure what the first round draft pick, or how that works in your league, but thats pretty good two.

If you have to do one

I’d take the 2nd one by miles over the 1st. Rizzo is not nearly as good as Hosmer.

But why do you feel the need to move Votto? I would understand if he were old or on the downslope of his career, but he’s only 27 and can potentially be a top 3 1B in fantasy for the next 6-8 years. I would trade Pujols for one of these packages before I would Votto.

I don't have to...

I put Votto on the block as a feeler, wanted to see what his value was.

I do realize he’s in his prime, though. My team has a lot of holes, and I was trying to see if I could fill them by trading my best hitter.

In our league, starting pitchers are more valuable.

rizzo is good but he’s not hosmer and he plays in petco.

well I would like 3rd option

1st option is quite solid, you have Votto for Garcia, Andrus and Rizzo… to the future, it means you have poor man adam wainwright in Garcia, so if you like adding quality pitcher for next years, then Garcia is right choice…also you are getting Andrus, 40 SB production at thins SS, once again, solid player for SS ….insurence for many years…. but Rizzo? sorry, I dont buy in this guy, he hasnt power as Adrian, he hasnt patience at the plate as Adrian, and hasnt Adrians contact…other than that, he is hitting at petco and Adrian is lucky man hitting finaly at Fenwey…so I would take 1st option if you can get something valuable with Andrus and Garcia, not Rizzo….

2nd option, Hosmer is new Votto, but Montero? sorry, this guy will not play for yankees as catcher….he wont play even DH for yankees… I believe he is nothing more than trade bait for yankees…they will deal him to the seattle, florida etc this season..and then, Montero still wont stay at catcher, because of his poor defense, so in fact you are buying in DH/1B wtih questionable attitude….yankees are wasting his talent playing him still at triple-A …. so again, Homser is fine, but with Montero, you are dealing Votto for Votto 2.0 and Montero with absolutely uncertain future – uncertain team, uncertain position…. so if you like to take second option, you have to ask for something other than Montero with Votto….becasue dealing Votto for Votto 2.0 doesnt make sense to me…
