CF Options

B.J. Upton vs. Cameron Maybin...which CF would you prefer going forward in a very deep dynasty league?  Traditional lineup (10 hitters, at real positions - i.e. RF, CF, LF instead of OF OF OF), but very deep statistical league - K/BB ratio, net SB, along with traditional BA/OBP/SLG.  My team is on the low-end of a 12-team league, but quite young and a bit unlucky this year, so I could be competitive as early as next year.

I just acquired Upton this past offseason, but wonder if he really ever will put in all together - not quite expecting 2007 again, but a hybrid between 07 & 08 (i.e. HIGHER BA) would be nice.  I would be acquiring Maybin, and I realize that there is no guarantee that Maybin will be better than Upton, or even his equal to this point.  My biggest concern is that Upton gets dealt before July 31 and ends up in a hitters' haven, is rejuvenated by the change in scenery, and clobbers the lving snot out of the ball, while Maybin singles and doubles his way to mediocrity.

Just curious in your opinions - who would you want to roam CF for this year, and likely the next two years?  Thanks!

On both sides of the coin, this is just a debate of imagined upside… All of the attributes and innate skills are there… There are just far too many glaring holes and a lack of capacity to package everything together.

I’d hate to be you… but BJ… Maybin is a lesser version of the same disappointing thing.

You need to respect the baby... 'cause life is precious... and God... and the Bible.

BJ

I got 5 words into your post (counting B.J. as one word), and stopped reading. This isn’t even close.

thanks...

I should’ve probably stated that this wouldn’t be a one-for-one trade, in that I’d get some help in the prospect dept. but I really was worried more about the MLB performance, so I left those details out.
