Chapman and Lamb or Taillon and Sale?
I am in a head to head dynasty league where we keep players indefinitely. I have been offered Jameson Taillon and Chris Sale for Aroldis Chapman and John Lamb. Should I make that trade? I'm only concerned with which pair of players has the greater long term value, as I am not doing well this year. If I don't make that trade, I have also been offered Manny Machado for Chapman. Should I do it?

I like both deals
I think Chapman takes a hit in H2H unless he becomes a SP.
I would probably do the Machado deal…he is living up to the hype so far.
Taillon has a higher ceiling than Lamb and Sale wouldnt be too far off from Chap if he can get back to last years form

I like both deals as well
I would do the Machado for Chapman deal. We don’t know right now if he can be a solid major league starter, but he could become a very good closer, as soon as next year. But closers are volatile. Take the hitter over the pitcher.

Thanks
Thanks highheat and Ray for the input!
Strasburg?
I made the deal for Taillon and Sale so I no longer have Chapman. That brings a new question. Would you trade Strasburg for Machado? If he was healthy I wouldn’t even consider it, but TJ recovery doesn’t seem to be 100% certain.
Strasburg
I would keep Strasburg. He should be back next year, and should be 100% by 2013.

Gotta keep Strasburg
The success rate of TJS is very high and some players even come back stronger. Imagine Strasburg only better. Even if he doesn’t come 100% of the way back I’d still take 75%. If his rates went 25% in the wrong direction he would still post 9.14 K/9, 2.81 BB/9, 0.82 HR/9, 36% GB%. It’s not the most scientific way to examine him but it goes to show that even with a large decline in skills would still leave him with some pretty solid numbers. The guy should be money in the bank, you just gotta wait for it.

Take Machado for Chapman and run
Sounds like you already traded Chapman however. I would not deal Strasburg for Machado however.
Montero for Machado?
Okay, I traded Chapman already and you guys have convinced me not to trade Strasburg for Machado. But what about Jesus Montero. I think the other owner would take Montero for Machado, but should I do it? Most would agree that Montero has more upside with the bat, but Machado plays a premium position, and if Montero doesn’t stick at catcher then he has no position. I appreciate any advice. Also, I guess I should add that the reason I have so many elite prospects is because I was an expansion team, which gave me extra selections and priority in the draft.
