With De La Rosa done for the year who should I replace him With?
Well Jorge De La Rosa is done for the year and this really hurts my pitching staff for point wise he was the 3rd best pitcher on my team
He suffered a serious elboy injury in todays game that will require Tommy John surgery. While I hope for a speedy recovery, I really hope my fantasy team suffers. Of the followig pitchers who would you guys replace De La Rosa with? Kevin Correia (Pit), Aaron Harang (SD), Jason Vargas (Sea), Ervin Santana (LAA), Rick Porcello (Det), Mark Buhrle(CHW), Edwin Jackson (Chw) or Derrick Holland (Tex). I have my eyes set on Porcello right now but what do you guys think?

Thanks
I like Jackson as well it’s just I feel Detroit has a better team and Porcello has been hot lately. Hopefully I can land him… he’s on waivers right now and I am sitting 7th out of 10… I don’t think anyone will put a claim in ahead of me but we shall see.

I like Porcello out of those
but consider some of the mid-season callups, like – so far – Rubby de la Rosa, Charlie Furbush, Danny Duffy, etc. Some of those guys could be more than serviceable for the rest of the season.
As sleepers, obvs
I think for now you have to go with Porcello, though.

are any of those guys called up yet and if so what team
I kind of want to scout them and am not to fond of team’s farm systems… The only player I have ever kept ky eyes on through the farms are Rockie players (i live in Colorado) and Mike Stanton. Help would be appreciated.

Called Up
RDLR (Dodgers) and Duffy (KC) were called up. Furbush will likely be called up soon (if he hasn’t already been).
Furbush
is currently in the ‘pen for the Tigers, possibly taking Phil Coke’s roster spot.
Thanks
I’ll look into those guys once they get a few more games. I believe De La Rosa is the set up man for LA now and Duffy has had two decent outings. Can you tell me a bit about his game at all so i can get a better feel of what this guy can bring? Can he bring heat or is he a breaking ball pitcher?

Check out Sickels’s piece on Duffy over at Minor League Ball. A great site for keeping tabs on prospects and recent call-ups.
thanks man

Definitely Porcello
What kind of trade options do you have?

Tough right now
I have 2 DL spots currently occupied by Pablo Sandivol and Pedro Alvarez and I have Garza sitting on my bench on the DL and Heyward sitting on my bench on the DL so I have no depth at any hitting position right now unless i downgrade which I don’t want to do. My options are pretty slim until I get guys healthy again. My other 3 Out Fielders are Cargo, Stanton and Justin Upton so once Heyward is good to go I have some trade bait options but right now it’s not looking good. I may have to drop Alvarez and put Heyward on my DL if one of my other guys goes down. My team is a mess right now.

Harang
I’m the lonely vote for Harang. I think Petco will help him a lot this year (as it already seems to be doing). It’s strange that his K-rate is double away from home, but maybe that’s because he knows he can pitch to contact in Petco.
After seeing the results of the poll though, I went out and picked up Porcello. Of course, I can’t start him this week against the Sox.
He was my choice as well
and I am taking the gamble against my Sox… they are too hot right now… they have a Dud coming up
